Purchase stoneground grain at the Union Mills Homestead and Grist Mill, visit the Carroll County Farm Museum to meet our oxen, Jack and Jim, or enjoy visual art displays at the Carroll Arts Center.

Our architectural self-guided walking tours will provide just the right amount of self-paced exercise. Piney Run Park will provide a fun day outdoors kayaking, fishing, and hiking around the lake. Meander our back roads while stopping by one of our local wineries, microbreweries and distilleries. Admire our scenic beauty while catching a glimpse of one of over 30 Barn Quilts along our Barn Quilt Trail. Some roads(stop by the wayside signs) trace the routes that over 60,000 Civil War soldiers travelled on their way to Gettysburg.

You can plan your trip around one of our many major events: the PEEPshow (fantastic marshmallow creations)in April, the 4th of July Celebration, the 49th Old Fashioned Corn Roast in August, The 36th Maryland Wine Festival in September, and the Festival of Wreaths in December, just to name a few.
