Kent County is a scenic peninsula on the Chesapeake Bay that claims a portion of Maryland's First National Scenic Byway. It is a destination of historic waterfront towns, stretches of low, rolling farmlands, dramatic sunsets, scenic beauty, rich heritage, and home to Eastern Neck Island.

Chestertown boasts its authentic 18th & 19th century homes. History buffs will delight in strolling its redbrick sidewalks, which is like stepping back in time, and is as delightful today as it was when visited by George Washington.

Today's visitor will find Washington College, Schooner Sultana, specialty and antique shops, art galleries, restaurants and an award-winning farmers and artisans market. The best way to explore the Chester River is on the River Packet, a 1920-style tour boat. Visual and Performing Arts are significant to our communities. Our two theatres, The Garfield Center for the Arts at Prince Theatre in Chestertown and the Mainstay in Rock Hall, feature local to nationally renowned performers.

Chestertown is designated a MD Arts & Entertainment District. Rock Hall's character was shaped by its generations of watermen and farmers. Get out on the Chesapeake Bay with one of its sailing charters. Wildlife, Bayfront camp ground, unique shops, trams, restaurants, marinas, museums and a quaint beach are found in this small fishing village. Close by is Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge.

Galena is noted for its antique shops, and its sweet shops, including homemade ice cream. Betterton, host to the only nettle-free Beach on the Bay, is a photographer's delight. Millington is the perfect stop for amazing food and hospitality. Foodies will love our wineries and distillery, incredible wine and cheese shop, farm fresh beef, and straight from the water seafood, including the Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab.
